Welcome to L’Horizon d’Or eco-lodge, a house nestled in the heart of the countryside in Profondeville, near Namur and the Meuse Valley, designed for those who wish to rediscover the joy of life’s simple pleasures: silence, space, light and time spent together.
With its modern comforts and unobstructed views of the surrounding countryside, it is the perfect place to recharge your batteries as a couple or with your family, far from the hustle and bustle, yet close to all amenities.
Here, nature is ever-present. From the house and the terrace, the horizon stretches out before you, unobstructed. As the day progresses, the light on the landscape changes. And as the sun begins to set, the sky gradually transforms into a palette of warm, golden colours. It is this moment of stillness, when the light sets the horizon ablaze and everything seems to slow down, that gave the holiday cottage its name: Horizon d’or. Settle down on the terrace and watch the sun gently disappear behind the landscape. Perhaps then you’ll understand why we love this place so much.
Built in 2025, the house comfortably accommodates up to four people in a setting that is contemporary, cosy and intimate. The light-filled living area opens naturally out onto the surroundings. The fully equipped kitchen makes it easy to prepare a meal, before gathering round the table or enjoying a quiet evening by the pellet stove. The master bedroom is perfect for relaxation, with its king-size bed, modern bath, washbasin and television. The second bedroom is upstairs, in a charming attic-style mezzanine with two single beds for children or young teenagers, who will find their own little space there. Outside, nature awaits you. The private garden and terrace form a natural extension of the house. In the morning, you can enjoy a coffee in peace and quiet, and you might even spot a deer from time to time. And in the evening, we look up towards the horizon or the stars...
Just a short walk from the gîte, there are several direct access points leading to a 146-hectare protected nature reserve. Numerous paths invite you to set off on foot, simply to get some fresh air, listen to nature and let the landscape take you by surprise. Cycling enthusiasts can also enjoy beautiful mountain bike trails nearby or easily access the ‘RAVeL’ network of cycle paths. The accommodation is ‘bike-friendly’ certified and features a secure shelter that can hold four bikes, complete with electric charging facilities.
Because comfort matters too, you’ll find everything you need to make the most of your stay: a fully equipped kitchen, high-speed Wi-Fi, a shower room, a bath, two televisions, a pellet stove with a reading corner, a fan in every room, two private parking spaces, mosquito nets, and more. An electric vehicle charging point is also available at an additional cost.
But above all, we hope you’ll leave with something else: the memory of a peaceful morning, an impromptu stroll, a shared meal and that golden sky that appears at the end of the day. Because, at heart, L’Horizon d’Or is a place where you take the time to breathe, to reconnect, to look around and to enjoy yourself.
